Being you

Don’t judge me because I sin differently than you do

~Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Constantly judged

For society was made this way

If you could fit in

Only then can you stay

Enjoy your time here

Being the same mediocre

Save yourself from humiliation

Just go where the crowd does.

Wear a mask and hide your own self

We don’t want the real you

Maybe you’d be able to satisfy us

We don’t want what is true.

We have a whole legion

Go join the rest

Follow the rules

We know what for you is the best.

Leave opinions outside

Nobody needs them

Just accept commands

And you will be well.

To survive in a society

Is to kill yourself

If u are ready to live by it

Consider your conscience dead.

But wait a minute

Didn’t you hear ?

You can’t complain or question

Any form of expression and you will be denied,

Living a ‘socially unacceptable’ life will be your only option.

Voices are trapped

And everyone oblivious

To be in this society

You need to be honestly pretentious.

Sit back and hope

But nothing would change

Or stop and make amends

And be the change.
